Coronation weekend was celebrated across Fairfield with decorated houses and windows and a series of street parties and gatherings – particularly on the sunny Sunday – followed by Sundown Cinema on the cricket pitch on bank holiday Monday. Although the weather forecast was exactly what you might expect it to be on a British bank holiday, the screenings were well attended and the rain did not dampen spirits. Thanks goes to the organisers for putting on another successful event. The 1st Fairfield Park Scouts’ scarecrow trail added an element of fun and a good excuse to take a walk around Fairfield whatever the weather. Well done to the participants for bringing smiles to many faces.
