Penny retired to Fairfield in 2010 with her husband Gavin. She was a Fairfield Parish Councillor from the council’s formation in 2013 until 2023, she joined the board of Fairfield Matters in 2014. She was also responsible for the distribution (along with a faithful band of local deliverers) of the print newsletter until 2023. Penny and Gavin have a particular interest in the orchards. Gavin was the original organiser of the annual Apple Day. And more recently they have both become prominent members of the Fairfield in Bloom team.
