Spring is here, and Central Bedfordshire Council is about to resume its kerbside garden waste collections – but in case you haven’t heard, there have been some changes, and you will need to take action if you want to take advantage of this service.
That’s because the service is changing to subscription only. The cost for the year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 is £55 per bin, and each household is permitted up to three bins. The garden waste bags previously issued by CBC will no longer be collected, but a bin will be delivered to you if you subscribe to the service and don’t already have one. There is also an option to have a smaller bin if you don’t have space for a regular sized wheelie bin, but there’s no discount for the smaller bin, or for signing up for multiple bins at the same address. Any existing garden waste bins which do not display a copy of the licence (showing that you have subscribed) will also no longer be collected.
If you would like to read more about the changes or sign up to receive kerbside collections for your garden waste this year, you can subscribe on the Central Bedfordshire Council website.
