If you have a few hours to spare and would like to put them to good use improving our surroundings, sharing your skills with others or just giving something back to the community, Fairfield offers plenty of opportunities for volunteering. This month we are featuring the Fairfield Park Lower School PTA – read on to find out more.
Who are they? A registered charity run by a committee of parents and teachers linked to Fairfield Park Lower School.
What do they do? Host events (fairs, fun runs, non-uniform days, discos, ice cream sales, etc) to raise money for the school.
Who can join? Anyone with a link to the school.
Where and when do they meet? Meetings are usually held at the school (occasionally in people’s houses or at the pub), and times vary to allow for all schedules. Not all members attend all meetings – and that’s ok!
What’s in it for me? Being a part of the PTA is a great way to be more involved in the school community, get to know other parents and teachers, and enrich the experience of children at the school.
How can I get involved? Email pta-fairfield@outlook.com to register your interest and receive updates.
Why now? If you’re new to the school, it’s a great way to meet people. If not, the start of a new school year is a good time to turn over a new leaf (and you can guarantee you won’t be the only newbie).
