Major pruning works began around Fairfield Park on 16 January. Most shrubs need hard pruning every few years and many of the shrubs that form part of the green space around the Park area of Fairfield have never been properly pruned. In some cases they have become so dense and tall that they are affecting the light to neighbouring properties.

The work will continue until early March and may look brutal, but the FPRA would like to assure residents that the shrubs will quickly recover. Hislop’s, the new grounds contractors, only employ trained horticulturists or apprentices undertaking horticultural qualifications, so they are aware of the limits.

If you have any concerns please email the FPRA direct on feedback@fairfield-park.com or contact managing agents Scanlans.
