As in nature, life has its seasons. On 2 February we had a wonderful celebration when we said farewell to Rev. Neil Whitmill as our minister. It was great that not only members of the church attended, but folk from the community too. The Parish Council, represented by Councillor Barrie Dack, presented Neil with a beautiful picture of the Remembrance Evening Service in November, over which he presided. In his time here, Fairfield Community Church has flourished and been an intrinsic part of this lovely community here on Fairfield. We all wish him and his wife, Helen, God’s richest blessings and guidance as they seek Him for their future.
And, here at Fairfield Community Church, a new season begins…What does it hold? For that we are seeking God, for His guidance and wisdom. One thing is sure at the present – we are carrying on! We clearly felt God directing us to plant a church here in Fairfield and He hasn’t told us to close our doors! Also, we are just beginning the process to look for a new minister.
So, we are very much here! We continue to meet on Sundays each week at the Community Hall from 10.30am. Please come and join us – you will be made most welcome! Kings Club (6–7pm Thursdays at Fairfield Park Lower School) is thriving; we are running the Coffee Hub on Tuesdays 8.45–9.45am, and we have Tea Time Church once a month as well as occasional events like our Ladies’ Breakfasts.
And have you seen our new Facebook page? Thanks to Jenny MacDonald who has brought us well and truly into the 21st century. Please give us a ‘like’ and keep an eye on the page for new events, news of the future leadership and uplifting and encouraging thoughts.
Blessings,
Pauline Wade
