Nobody wants to talk, or even think, about death, but this is one of the topics about to reach the top of the agenda in Fairfield. That’s because Fairfield residents have no access to cemetery facilities at reasonable rates. Our rights to burial or interment of ashes in Stotfold were forfeited when we became an independent parish in 2013. Other local services are available, but they come at hugely inflated rates because we are classed as non-residents.

Fairfield Parish Council has been looking into how this situation can be remedied, and there will be a parish-wide consultation coming soon. Options that are up for discussion include designating a Garden of Remembrance, an area for interment of ashes, or even a full cemetery within Fairfield. When the consultation drops onto your doorstep, make sure you have your say.
