The BEDFORDSHIRE WALKING FESTIVAL 2021 kicks off this weekend and the Three Green Wheels Challenge, a series of guided walks around the Sandy, Biggleswade and Etonbury Green Wheels is one of the first items on the calendar.
Booking is required for our nearest – the Etonbury walk, which meets at the Fox and Duck at 10am on Sunday (12 September) – but if you have missed the booking deadline there is nothing to stop you downloading the map and completing the walk on your own. All the Green Wheel leaflets can be downloaded from the Central Bedfordshire Council website.
The Bedfordshire Walking Festival, organised by the Bedfordshire Area Ramblers, continues until Sunday 19 September and features a variety of walks with a wide range of lengths and difficulty, including some Heritage Interest Walks with wildlife or historic focus. For the full list visit www.bedswalkfest.co.uk.
The Etonbury Green Wheel, which passes through Fairfield, features as part of the Bedfordshire Walking Festival, but is also available as a self-guided walk: Etonbury Green Wheel map
