They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, and we’d like to introduce a new picture-led feature to round up some of the big and small stories that catch your eye each month.

To take part, send us just one photo that captures something special or memorable about the month from your perspective – anything from a celebration to a spectacular sunset – but please only submit photos you have taken yourself in Fairfield in that month. And please check with anyone featured in them that they are happy to appear in print. Phone pictures are welcome, but please do select the best quality option.

E-mail your entry with a short explanation of what it is, and/or why it deserves to be included, to the following address by the 21st day of the month, and include your name if you’d like a credit:
