1st Fairfield Park Scout group organised a scarecrow festival to coincide with the King’s coronation over the bank holiday weekend 6–8 May. Residents and organisations from across Fairfield were invited to take part in the event.

Entrants needed to build and decorate a scarecrow to display at homes which were included in a route map around Fairfield. The theme of Historical Rulers was chosen to reflect the special occasion and members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite display.
