Wendy Briggs, the artist appointed by Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) to deliver the public art part of the S.106 agreement, has produced a set of proposals for a new art project in the orchards. Her designs include a guided nature trail, with information boards giving history and nature notes. Innovative benches will identify many of the trees.

Wendy has been working with Fairfield Parish Council (FPC), CBC and Bedfordshire Rural Counties Charity (BRCC) to bring forward her intentions. She has liaised with Fairfield Park Lower School and now wants to share her ideas with residents.

There will be an opportunity to see and discuss the designs on Thursday 12 April at the Annual Parish Meeting (see p2). Wendy will be in the Community Hall before and after the meeting with lots of pictures and explanations, and she will be happy to answer questions and discuss the project.

For those who can’t attend the meeting, there is more information and pictures on the FPC website: http://www.fairfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk.
