Central Bedfordshire Council’s bin consultation, which suggested future changes to the service including the addition of separate paper and glass collections, a black bin collection only every three weeks instead of every two, and the introduction of a charge for garden waste collection, received a record response, with more than 15,000 surveys submitted and over 35,000 comments.

A report setting out the findings will be published on 2 May, and the council’s Executive Committee will meet on Thursday 10 May to consider the options further. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast online.
