Although the planned Remembrance service could not take place on Remembrance Sunday, Fairfield was able, in a very muted way, to commemorate those who served in the World Wars and subsequent conflicts. Wreaths were laid by the Fairfield management groups, the Scouts and Central Bedfordshire Council. There wasn’t a piper, but there was recorded music, readings and those present observed two minutes’ silence. Those who were in attendance reported a quiet, reflective and moving event. A video has been posted on the Fairfield Parish Council website for any resident who would like to watch.
