Fairfield Bowls Club’s season drew to a close at the end of September with a nail-biting mixed pairs final in which Di Parry and Neil Stevenson played Chris Johnston and Roger Burrows. The score went back and forth – so close you couldn’t tell which way it was going to go. At 18 ends the score was 18 all, so a deciding end was played and the winners were Chris and Roger. The final results of all the in-house competitions are as follows:

Ladies singles winner: Di Pearce
Mens singles winner: Gary Gunn
Handicap singles winner: Brian Rawson
Mixed pairs winners: Chris Johnston and Roger Burrows
Mens pairs winners: Gary Gunn and Dave Patient
Triples winners: John Turner, Brian Rawson and Stella Wilson

A presentation night will be held on Friday 29 October.
