The problems with HGV driver shortage are as yet unresolved and continue to affect our waste collections. However, Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) has arranged to help clear the backlog of waste already in residents’ green bins by making a one-off collection of garden waste instead of food waste between 18 and 30 October. Fairfield’s garden waste collection day will be our usual green bin day, Tuesday 19th October.

On this day, you should place your garden waste bin or two council issued bags at the kerbside instead of your food waste.

It is also no longer necessary to book a slot at Central Bedfordshire’s Household Waste Recycling Centres before visiting. This easing of restrictions means that any further garden waste can be disposed of at tidy tips more easily than previously.
