If hosting a Ukrainian family isn’t for you, there are plenty of other ways to show you care.

Donations of clothing and other essentials are an obvious ways to help, and there are lots of different organisations collecting. Collections are usually organised and shipped at short notice and there may be requests for specific items, so keep an eye on social media to see what is needed and when, and only take donations when a drop-off point is open. Families hosting refugees may also put out requests for specific items once they know what they will need.

You can also help by donating money. Fairfield Community Hall currently has a collection point for cash donations to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and Tesco is offering customers the option to round up their shopping total to the nearest pound in aid of the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal – every little helps! Bigger donations can also be made, of course – just hop on the charity’s website.

Or how about taking part in a quiz in aid of Ukraine? It’ll be help on Friday 22 April at 7.30pm in the Community Hall.
