Fairfield Bowls Club has enjoyed another good season with increased participation in district, county and national competitions.

In Division 3 of the East Beds Men’s League, the ‘A’ Team finished mid Table. The ‘B’ Team unfortunately were unable to retain their status in Division 4 following their promotion last season. In the East Beds Ladies’ League, the Fairfield ladies achieved their objective of consolidating their position in Division 1 following their promotion last season.

At the start of the season, 24 new members joined the club, the majority of whom had no bowls experience. It is particularly pleasing that some of these players have represented the Club with distinction in friendly, district and county competitions. This augurs well for the future.

The Bowls Club’s commitment to friendly matches continued throughout the season. With just a few games remaining, 30 friendly fixtures have so far been played, the majority of which have ended in victory for Fairfield.

Many local clubs visit Fairfield and are very envious of the facilities, environment and support provided at our club. The investment and development progamme, which commenced in 2019, is paying dividends. Coaching sessions for junior members have started this season and we intend to develop this further in 2023. Also, the new petanque area is attracting new membership.

Additional information is displayed on the Club’s notice board at the Kipling Crescent entrance.
