‘Say it with flowers’ came to mind as Fairfield Art Group started the new theme of ‘Spring’. This will continue through the month and was interpreted in different ways by our artists. Tulips, snowdrops and swathes of daffodils were captured in watercolours and acrylics.

I was trying my hand with water-soluble Inktense paints, while John experimented in acrylics, so we were both out of our comfort zone.

‘Skies’ will be the focus for April, and John will be demonstrating first in watercolours and then in oils at our first session on 3 April. Join us to try your hand as we paint along – or you can just watch and take note of the techniques. Those who prefer to use acrylics may find they can use them like oils.
