fairfield_urban_park_planThe time for renewal and upgrade to the Urban Park is nearly here! The plans have been finalised, the contractor has been selected and contracts will soon be signed.

The Fairfield Park Residents’ Association (FPRA) has given CSA Environment the lead to complete this project, which will see the Urban Park transformed into a vastly improved space for all residents to enjoy.

More trees and shrubs will be planted, including ornamental cherry trees to create a focal point in one corner. There will also be colourful annual flower beds, and a market area and a performance mound will be constructed.

The provisional start date is 16 April and the project should be completed by 18 May. During this period the Urban Park will be a small construction site. It will therefore be unavailable to Fairfield residents as it will be fenced off for health and safety reasons.

The FPRA, who will be directing the work, are keen to keep disruption to a minimum. They have met with the project lead at CSA and the representative of the landscaper Kings Landscapes, and agreed that all contractor vehicles and deliveries will be put directly into the Urban Park to keep the surrounding roads clear. Kings have also agreed to try and ensure that deliveries of supplies are made after 9am.

The contractor will be on site all day Monday to Friday, and also on Saturday mornings.

If any resident has concerns during the construction they are asked to contact the FPRA by email: feedback@fairfield-park.com so that those concerns can be addressed.
