An event hosted by Mr and Mrs Sodhi in Fairfield as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was a huge success, raising a total of £875 for the charity. Swinder Sodhi explained that she decided to host a coffee morning because her best friend has been suffering with cancer. She has also lost two sisters to the disease. £335 was raised on the day, which Mr and Mrs Sodhi then doubled; the rest was donated by family after the event.

Swinder Sodhi told FM: “A good number of neighbours from Fairfield turned out and they were very generous and dug deep into their pockets. I want to thank everyone for their generosity, especially Valeria and my daughter Revinder who did the leg work making and serving tea.”
