Earlier in the year, Brodie Ritchie designed a ‘wild home’ as part of an Eco Week homework using mainly recycled materials and plants. Brodie’s ‘Helta Skelta’ design was one of those chosen for Fairfield Park Lower School’s entry into the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show – and his design won!
Brodie told FM “I am really glad that I won as I haven’t won anything before. I was surprised when the teacher told me and the whole class clapped. I think the bugs will like it and will go down the helta skelta slide and say woohoo!”
Sadly, this year’s flower show was cancelled due to COVID-19, but Brodie and his dad have been building his bug home during lockdown. The slide still needs to be finished, but it’s already looking impressive. Well done Brodie!
