Almost 7 year old Charlie – inspired by Captain Tom Moore – decided to raise money for the NHS by attempting to cycle 31 miles (the length of the channel tunnel) on the tracks and paths around Fairfield in a day. He was accompanied by his mum or dad (they took it in turns), and completed his marathon ride in 5 hours, 6 minutes and 22 seconds – an average of 6.1 mph. The next day Charlie was fine, but we heard his mum couldn’t walk!

Charlie’s friends Harry, William and Oliver have also completed challenges during lockdown. Harry climbed his stairs the equivalent of the Empire State Building, while William and Oliver ran a marathon in 14 days! In total, the four have raised £2,600.
