Fairfield Community Hall is at the hub of the village and we are looking for volunteers to help run it. The transfer of ownership of the hall from the developer to Fairfield Parish Council is underway, but once completed, it will continue to be run by a management committee that will include trustees of a Charitable Trust.

‘Trustee’ sounds a grand, scary word! In effect, what we need is people interested in seeing a wide range of events, clubs and groups using the hall to its full potential. It does help if one or two have business experience as we always need to balance the books. Currently we are also looking for someone with business legal experience to act as secretary, to keep the minutes, make sure our legal affairs with the Charity Commission are up to date and that the contracts with hirers are shipshape. Possibly someone with marketing experience could find a role too. But the over-riding qualities are a care of the community in which we live, a willingness to put forward bright ideas and help run and organise behind the scenes to make sure it is successful.

If you think you have what it takes then please contact our Chair, Nick Andrews, at trustees@fairfieldcommunityhall.co.uk.
