Although most of the trees in Fairfield weathered the onslaught of storms Dudley–Eunice–Franklin admirably, there were a few notable exceptions. The bridleway around Fairfield Park’s southeast corner was blocked by several fallen trees, and the West Drive took a couple of hits. The most dramatic loss was probably the large limb of Scots pine in the West Orchard, which fell very close to the seating area – luckily overnight, when it wasn’t in use.
