The cricket pitch at the centre of Fairfield, once the home ground of the Three Counties Asylum staff cricket team, is now owned and used occasionally by Letchworth Cricket Club, whose main pitch is in Letchworth. We have always benefited from this large grassy area for picnics, dog walking and other activities, but before now the pitch has rarely been used by the Fairfield community for its intended purpose – and anyone wanting to get involved in the sport has had to travel to the main club ground in Letchworth for training.

This summer term, with the encouragement of Fairfield Parish Council, Letchworth CC has agreed to offer cricket programmes for children on the Fairfield pitch – aimed squarely at Fairfield residents. These are open to boys and girls aged 5–11 in two separate age groups, and will take place on Friday evenings. Bookings must be made for the full eight weeks.

Dynamos Cricket
