The hearts of Fairfield were warmed by a simple act of kindness this summer when Fairfield resident Suki Danjal-Barhey posted this photo on Facebook.

Suki found the toy monkey in June and posted on the Fairfield Family Forum Facebook page to try and locate its owner. As it was not claimed, she took it on her holiday to India in August and donated it to a poor little girl who had no toys.

The monkey’s original owner came forward after Suki shared the photo of the Indian recipient holding the toy. Oliver Duke wrote: “This is (or was) our five-month-old baby’s comforter that we lost a few weeks back. Actually so glad it’s gone to a wonderful new home and that we are privileged enough to be able to buy our son and new one when these people are unable to even buy toys for their children.”
