So the first ever Fairfield event of its kind was a huge success! The Scarefield Halloween Ball as brought to you by the newly formed, non-profit Fairfield Events team (better known as Laura and Amber). Over 360 people attended! We could not have put on such a production alone, so there are a number of thank you’s we’d like to make…
Firstly, the Community Hall for allowing us to hold the event and supporting us along the way. Nick Andrews and Roger Parsley, you have both been fantastic and we are forever grateful for helping us get this off the ground!
The Parish Council for their support and financial donation and Fairfield Matters magazine for advertising us and helping spread the word!
Michelle Valle for all her incredible graphics work – she took our ideas and brought them to life, producing all the eye catching posters and tickets! Nothing was ever too much trouble and Michelle generously gave us her time, talent and artistic flair, thank you for everything!
Rab Fernandez for his incredible lighting skills… he totally transformed the community hall and it would not have looked half as amazing as it did without him. Rab we are eternally grateful!
Toni Peebles for her beautiful window painting skills and willingness to help when we had an eyelet crisis!
Also, a huge thank you to the amazing vendors who helped make the night such fun for everyone: DNA kids DJs for the fangtastic children’s entertainment! Fusion Dance for their thrilling dance performances! Leon Barnes of Knight DJ for the spooky effects and brilliant disco! Face 2 Face for their amazing face painting skills! KK events for the unlimited popcorn and candy floss! Sue Peppiat for providing tarot readings! And No.7 Bar hire and Scoff’n’Nosh for the food and drink.
A warm shout out to Andre Cardona for helping us with the straw bales and allowing us to use his van for transporting and storing them!
The decorations would never have come together without the wonderful efforts of Simon Probert, Laura Bell, Nyuszi Boros, Niki Fernandez, Mark Du Plessis and Cara Rawlinson! Each of them spent hours with us in the community hall hanging, cutting, adjusting, taping, glueing, setting, building and in all manner creating the spooky spectacle that we all enjoyed! Thank you so much, every one of you, for donating your time, hard work and excellent ideas!
A mention for Antonia Polito is absolutely necessary for allowing us to spam the Fairfield Family Forum on Facebook and pinning posts that needed to be seen by everyone. Antonia really helped ensure we got the advertising to as many people as possible so no one missed out – thank you!
Again to Nick and Roger, along with their fellow crusader Simon Parry for manning the door on the night and ensuring everything ran smoothly (while Amber and Laura let their wigs down and danced all night).
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing sponsors, David and Jules from First Step Estate agents and the support from Nicola James, without whom we would never have gotten started! They helped us take the ‘first step’ into event planning on this scale and supported us all year long with excellent ideas, financial donations and an ever-present encouragement and enthusiasm for the Halloween Ball that is beyond appreciated!
Last but by no means least, to all of the Fairfield Community for turning up to the event and making such an incredible effort with costumes on the night! This was all for you!
A short rest is well deserved for us now followed by a few debrief meetings and then we will get started on planning the next event! We have BIG plans! Thank you for all the feedback we received – we will take everything on board to make the next event what you hope for! If you didn’t get a chance to feedback yet or have any ideas or suggestions please email fairfieldevents@aol.com.
